WELCOME

My name is Aubrie Maze and I am a cancer survivor.

When I was sixteen, I was diagnosed with Stage 4 Ewing’s Sarcoma.  I spent one year in treatments, including chemotherapy, whole lung radiation and a major pelvic replacement surgery.  Thirteen months after my diagnosis, I was declared in Remission!

My cancer treatments were a life-altering experience and, with the guidance of my family and friends, I learned more about myself than I had thought possible.  With great help from my dear mom, I created a workbook called Cutting Up: Laughing & Crafting: ideas that helped one teenager through cancer treatments.

I want to share my experience and the knowledge I have gained with as many people as I can.  I want to create a community of teens in cancer treatments who can support and guide each other.  We are all in this universe together, and I believe we can learn greatly from each other’s quests and gained insights.

In attempting to “be the change [I] wish to see in the world” (Gandhi), I offer you this website in hopes that your spirits are uplifted and your journey is made easier.
